Restorative yoga

restorative yoga

Is the lineage that originated from the knowledge of B.K.S. Iyengar. As this guru taught a very strict and physically demanding style of yoga, he recognized that his students needed time to rest between classes.

A huge fan of using props, Iyengar quickly discovered how props could support the body in certain postures to offer practitioners moments of deeper and deeper relaxation. So Iyengar began offering restorative yoga practices to his students regularly.

Benefits of Restorative Yoga – Restorative yoga is a deeply calming form of yoga, it can teach us to slow down and surrender; to become receptive rather then active, and introspective. In most modern yoga yoga we work on postures. With restorative yoga, we allow the the postures to work on us. It’s a way to create energy with out using energy. In restorative we hold the postures from 5 to 15mins to allow the nervous to really unwind back to a beautiful nurtured relaxed state
